A big thanks to all who came out this morning in cold but sunny conditions to pluck trash from the woods and shorelines of Lake Wheeler Park.
Our club fielded 15 volunteers, joining those from TRC and the Raleigh Dragon Boat Club to total nearly 40 participants! Indeed the Park didn’t have enough litter to keep us busy–we wrapped up around 11 AM with a new appreciation for beauty of the Park (and for its relative cleanliness, thanks to Park staff).
Please keep an eye out for similar volunteer efforts in the new year of 2023, as our club works more closely with Park staff to identify needs and opportunities. If anything we’ve made it clear that we’re willing to do more for the Park than just row on the lake!
